Description
Pink is strong and warm — the loudest of the pink tones. On quiet fabrics it suffices as your single colour accent. 50 cm long — pick your length by the pattern piece rather than the paper pattern, since seam allowances and hem change the measurement.
5 mm metal teeth. They turn the fastener into a visible design element rather than a purely functional part. Lay both halves level and tack them before the first seam. Let one side shift and your jacket stands apart at the hem; with the fastener closed, that shows at once.
What Separating Zip 50 cm Pink is suitable for

Sewing tips
- Länge am fertigen Schnittteil messen, nicht am Schnittmuster — Nahtzugaben und Saum verändern die gebrauchte Länge.
- Reißverschlussfuß verwenden. Mit ihm kommt die Naht dicht an die Zähne, ohne dass der Fuß aufläuft.
- Vor dem Annähen beide Seiten gleich hoch ausrichten und heften. Verschiebt sich eine Hälfte, steht die Jacke am Saum auseinander.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen den Beleg mit Vlieseline verstärken, sonst wellt sich die Kante entlang des Bandes.
- Den Schieber vor der Quernaht öffnen und beiseiteschieben, damit die Nadel nicht auf Metall trifft.
- Metall- und Krampenverschlüsse nicht bügeln. Bei Spiralverschlüssen nur mit Tuch und niedriger Stufe.
- Beim Waschen den Verschluss schließen, dann verzieht sich das Band nicht und die Zähne haken sich nicht in anderer Wäsche fest.

The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
What is the box at the bottom for?
That box takes the pin and holds both halves together while the fastener is closed. It is the part that makes a separating jacket possible at all.
Does a separating zip suit bags?
Rarely. A closed-end one serves better there, or your bag opens at the bottom. Separating only pays when two parts really should come apart.
