Weighing 240 gsm, this fine rib keeps even heavily used edges in shape. Against anthracite, dark grey and natural white it creates a calm, premium look. Sew using a stretch or jersey needle in size 75 to 80, moving up to 90 across several layers at a hood or waistband. An overlocker or elastic stitch keeps the seam flexible, while a straight stitch snaps as the garment is pulled on.

How much ribbing do I need?

Sleeve and hem ribbing on a jumper usually takes only a short piece, while hoodies including hood facings or pockets need more. We cut from 0.2 metres upwards, so you can order exactly what your pattern calls for.
