Grey is a neutral mid grey without any colour cast. It is the all-rounder of the range and goes with jeans, black, mustard or lilac. A grey vest can be combined with almost anything, which is why it is a popular make for women, men and children.

Doubleface means the reverse is not a woven base but a finished fleece. Raw areas such as collars, cuffs or hood edges therefore look good. That saves a step when sewing and makes the fabric attractive for beginners too.

Besides vests the fabric suits teddy coats, reversible jackets, hats and warm children's clothing.

Sewing tips

Doubleface: Die Fleece-Abseite ist die fertige Innenseite. Westen und Jacken brauchen kein Futter.
Weil man die Innenseite sieht, die Nähte sauber versäubern, als Kappnaht oder mit Schrägband eingefasst.
Kanten mit Schrägband oder Bündchen einfassen. Fleece franst nicht, offene Kanten gehen also auch.
Bei Paddy zeigt sich die abgesetzte Rückseite überall, wo der Stoff umgeschlagen wird, am Kragen, am Revers und an den Ärmelaufschlägen. Diese Stellen beim Zuschnitt bewusst einplanen.
Alle Teile in dieselbe Strichrichtung zuschneiden.
Universalnadel 90, Stichlänge 3, am besten mit Obertransportfuß.
Nicht direkt bügeln, die Locken drücken sich sonst platt.
Bei 30 Grad waschen, nicht in den Trockner.

Frequently asked questions

Does Teddy Boucle need a lining?

No. The fabric is doubleface with boucle outside and smooth fleece inside. Both sides are finished, so vests and jackets can be sewn without a lining and still look tidy on the inside.

Is the fabric suitable for beginners?

Yes, especially for a vest. Without a lining many steps are skipped, and fleece does not fray. A walking foot helps, because otherwise the curls tend to shift against each other. A test piece beforehand builds confidence.

Can I sew a reversible vest from it?

Yes, doubleface is ideal for that. Bind the edges with bias tape and add patch pockets. With Paddy you get two colours in a single garment this way.

Can I iron Teddy Boucle?

Better not directly, otherwise the curls get flattened. If a seam needs to lie flat, work from the fleece side with little heat and a pressing cloth, or simply smooth the seam open with your finger.
