If you work with it for the first time, plan a test piece: it behaves differently from polyester. Metallic thread is more demanding to work than smooth embroidery thread, but it repays that with an effect no matt thread reaches. Do not iron directly over finished embroidery.

Frequently asked questions
May I iron over the embroidery?
No, not directly. Metal foil takes no direct heat and turns dull. If ironing is needed, work from the reverse with a cloth between and at a low temperature.
Can I stitch whole areas with it?
Technically yes, visually rarely sensible. The shine works hardest as an accent. Across large areas it reads restless, and longer stitching time raises the risk of thread breaks.
How durable is the embroidery?
Under normal use good. Metallic thread is not meant for garments stressed daily — for festive pieces, decoration and accents its durability is entirely sufficient.
What is the colour code for?
Metallic tones differ in nuances that are hard to describe. The code on the spool is therefore the only reliable detail when you want to restock the same shine.
