Dark grey is the restrained alternative to black. On mid-tone fabrics it draws a line without reading as hard. Its length is 90 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
At 6 mm this coil is the strongest of the plastic versions. It takes more strain and looks less lost on heavy fabrics. Lay both halves level and tack them before the first seam. Let one side shift and your jacket stands apart at the hem; with the fastener closed, that shows at once.
What Teilbare Reißverschlüsse Dunkelgrau is suitable for
- Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
- Waistcoats, because it lies smoothly into the front edge.
- Children's jackets, because the piece goes on and off easily.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
What does separating mean?
At the bottom sits a box with a pin instead of a fixed stop. Pull that pin out and both halves part completely — your piece opens like a jacket and comes right off.
Do I need a facing?
It makes the edge tidy and covers the tape. On stretch fabrics reinforce it with interfacing, or your front edge ripples along the tape.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
