Along this thread dark brown, brown and beige alternate — the gradient appears as you stitch, with no colour change needed. The spool holds 200 m of glossy polyester, and the colour code reads 9927. Mettler calls this mixture Coffee Blends.
For area-filling designs a multi thread is the simplest way to gain depth — without a single colour change at the machine. As with solid Poly Sheen the sheen arises inside the filament; the colour changes do nothing to alter that. On calm ground the change shows more clearly than on patterned fabric.
What Mettler Poly Sheen Bunt is suitable for

- borders and edgings
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Does this thread suit lettering?
For large letters yes, for fine lettering rather not. On small characters the colour changes mid-letter, and the wording then reads restless instead of lively.
Does the multi thread shine like a solid one?
Yes. It is the same polyester filament, only dyed differently. The shimmer arises in the material rather than the colour, so every section of the spool shines to the same degree.
Can I sew with it instead of embroidering?
For decorative seams yes. For load-bearing seams embroidery thread is the wrong pick, being built for sheen and suppleness rather than the strength a structural seam needs.
Is the spool sold singly?
Yes, every spool is sold on its own. With a mixture that pays off especially, since one spool already brings several tones and no collection is needed.
