Apricot is a warm, pale orange carrying pink — the tone of ripe apricots. On summer fabrics it reads friendly without being intrusive. Its length is 18 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
At 3 mm the coil counts among the narrow versions: it draws little attention and sets neatly into a short seam. Sold singly. Measure the opening on your finished pattern piece rather than on paper — seam allowances and hem change the length you need. Too long, and you shorten it from the top: cut, fold the tape in, set a new stop with hand stitches.

Sewing tips

- Zu lange Verschlüsse lassen sich kürzen: oben abschneiden, neuen Anschlag mit Handstichen setzen und das Band in die Nahtzugabe einschlagen.
- In Taschen den Verschluss vor dem Zusammennähen der Seitennähte einsetzen, solange die Teile noch flach liegen.
- Bei dünnen Stoffen ein Stück Vlieseline unterlegen, damit die Kante nicht ausreißt.
- Metallausführungen nicht bügeln; die Spitzenvariante nur von links und mit Tuch.
- Zum Waschen schließen. Offene Zähne verhaken sich in Maschenware und ziehen Fäden.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on jersey?
Yes, if you stabilise the edge. A strip of interfacing or a narrow stay tape in the seam allowance stops that edge stretching as you sew and rippling later.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric or a thread is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
Do I need two sliders?
Closed-end fasteners carry one, and that suffices — two sliders only make sense on long, separating fasteners, such as coats you want to open from the bottom.
What do I do with the tape ends?
They run into the seam allowance and are caught there. Fold them slightly outwards at an angle, so they add no bulk at the corner and the slider reaches the top.
