Burgundy is a dark wine red with a slight brown note. It reads more festive than a clear red, and more grown-up at the same time. Tooth length comes to 18 cm. Lay it against your piece before cutting and you will see at once whether the opening sits right.
This version carries a fine 3 mm coil. On light fabrics it is the calmer choice against metal. For cushion covers, make the opening at least half the cushion width — otherwise the insert only goes in with a struggle and the corners stay empty as you fill it.

Sewing tips

Which presser foot do I need?
A zip foot. It runs beside the teeth rather than over them, so your seam comes close enough without the foot riding up and the stitching wandering.
Does it work on jersey?
Yes, if you stabilise the edge. A strip of interfacing or a narrow stay tape in the seam allowance stops that edge stretching as you sew and rippling later.
How does metal differ from coil?
Metal teeth sit separately on the tape; a coil runs continuously. Metal reads stronger and more visible, a coil stays lighter and more flexible — on thin fabrics the calmer choice.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
