Felty is dense enough to embroider and soft enough to drape — the mixture that matters in an embroidery felt. The web measures 25 cm across; the roll holds 3 m. Its weight per square metre is 210 g/m².
Cut with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter; blunt blades drag fibres out of the surface. The 25 cm roll matches what the felt is used for: labels, patches, small appliqué. Large areas are rarely the point. Store it dry, flat and without creases.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash the felt?
Yes, at 30 °C. It keeps its shape and its colour. The real limit comes from the garment the appliqué sits on rather than from the felt.
Can I embroider on it?
Yes, by machine as much as by hand. A stabiliser belongs under the felt, otherwise stitch density draws the surface together and the design ripples.
How many colours are there?
Over twenty, from muted naturals to neon. Anyone making appliqué in series finds nearly every tone — and the colour number makes it reorderable. The number appears on the band and in the article name.
Does an appliqué hold without stitching?
In the short term yes, permanently no. Washing and rubbing lift a glued edge. A narrow zigzag or straight stitch around it settles the matter for good.
