Felty is dense enough to embroider and soft enough to drape — the mixture that matters in an embroidery felt. The web measures 25 cm across; the roll holds 3 m. The stated weight per square metre is 210 g/m².
Cut with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter; blunt blades drag fibres out of the surface. Anyone selling or gifting patches works faster with felt than with woven fabric: no finishing, no pressing under, no seam allowance. If you embroider regularly, keeping one of the common sizes in stock pays off.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash the felt?
Yes, at 30 °C. It keeps its shape and its colour. The real limit comes from the garment the appliqué sits on rather than from the felt.
Can I embroider on it?
Yes, by machine as much as by hand. A stabiliser belongs under the felt, otherwise stitch density draws the surface together and the design ripples.
Can I glue felt instead of sewing?
For decor yes, for clothing rather not. Glued joints lift at the edges in the wash. Combining both — glue and edge stitch — gives the most durable result.
Does it suit children?
Very well. Nothing frays, nothing needs finishing, and scissors are tool enough. For first sewing projects it is the simplest material choice. The result also looks tidy at the first attempt.
