Felty is Sulky's washable embroidery felt: stable in shape, dense and finished so the cut edge stays clean. The roll is 25 cm wide and 3 m long. Its weight per square metre is 210 g/m².
This felt takes machine embroidery and hand work alike — both work because it holds its shape. The felt stays colourfast through frequent washing; the garment it sits on sets the limit. Store it dry, flat and without creases. It ships singly, so you can restock exactly what you need.

Sewing tips
- Der Filz franst nicht, die Kante braucht also keine Versäuberung.
- Zum Besticken ein Stickvlies unterlegen, sonst zieht die Stichdichte den Filz zusammen.
- Waschbar bei 30 °C — Applikationen halten damit auch an Kleidung, die regelmäßig gewaschen wird.
- Mit einer scharfen Schere oder dem Rollschneider zuschneiden; stumpfe Klingen ziehen Fasern.
- Für Aufnäher den Filz mit Aufbügelvlies hinterlegen, dann bleibt die Form auch nach dem Aufbügeln erhalten.

Can I embroider on it?
Yes, by machine as much as by hand. A stabiliser belongs under the felt, otherwise stitch density draws the surface together and the design ripples.
What do I cut it with?
Sharp scissors or a rotary cutter. Blunt blades drag fibres out of the surface, and the edge then looks ragged even though felt cannot actually fray.
How many colours are there?
Over twenty, from muted naturals to neon. Anyone making appliqué in series finds nearly every tone — and the colour number makes it reorderable. The number appears on the band and in the article name.
Does it suit children?
Very well. Nothing frays, nothing needs finishing, and scissors are tool enough. For first sewing projects it is the simplest material choice. The result also looks tidy at the first attempt.
