Felty is dense enough to embroider and soft enough to drape — the mixture that matters in an embroidery felt. The web measures 25 cm across; the roll holds 3 m. Its weight per square metre is 210 g/m².
Cut with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter; blunt blades drag fibres out of the surface. Felt has an advantage no woven fabric has: it knows no grain. You cut in any direction and the edge still stays closed. Store it dry, flat and without creases.
What Sulky Felty Stickfilz Dunkelrot is suitable for
- appliqué on clothing and bags
- labels and patches
- advent calendars and seasonal decor
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash the felt?
Yes, at 30 °C. It keeps its shape and its colour. The real limit comes from the garment the appliqué sits on rather than from the felt.
How do I make a patch from it?
Stitch the design, cut it out, back it with fusible stabiliser and press it on. An edge stitch makes it durable — especially where a piece rubs while worn.
Can I glue felt instead of sewing?
For decor yes, for clothing rather not. Glued joints lift at the edges in the wash. Combining both — glue and edge stitch — gives the most durable result.
How many colours are there?
Over twenty, from muted naturals to neon. Anyone making appliqué in series finds nearly every tone — and the colour number makes it reorderable. The number appears on the band and in the article name.
