Description

A clear red with neither blue nor orange cast. On dark fabrics this fastener becomes a deliberate accent. Its length is 20 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.

At 3 mm the coil counts among the narrow versions: it draws little attention and sets neatly into a short seam. Close the fastener before every wash, so the tape will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.

What Closed-End Zip 20 cm Red is suitable for

  • Cushion covers, because the opening can be measured exactly.
  • Cases and pouches, because the tape adds little bulk.
  • Garment bags, because the opening matches the length exactly.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the seam close to the teeth?

With a zip foot, a slow pace and a tacked edge. Press the allowance beforehand and it lies flat while you sew, so the seam keeps an even distance.

How does metal differ from coil?

Metal teeth sit separately on the tape; a coil runs continuously. Metal reads stronger and more visible, a coil stays lighter and more flexible — on thin fabrics the calmer choice.

How does it look tidy inside?

A facing or lining covers the tape. Without either, finish your seam allowances with overlock or zigzag beforehand, or they fray beside the tape.

How should I store fasteners?

Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
