Description
Aqua sits in the blue range and reads deep or fresh depending on the fabric — the surroundings decide. The spool holds 400 m of embroidery thread at weight 40, and the colour code reads 1645. A fine bobbin thread belongs in the case, not this same embroidery thread.
Area fill stitches read more lively with this sheen than with matt thread — the tone shifts with your viewing angle. Polyneon shines without reading metallic. The shimmer stays soft and gives a design relief rather than glare. Note the colour code with your project straight away, then you will find this tone again.
What Madeira Polyneon Embroidery Thread 400 m Aqua is suitable for
- embroidery on textiles washed hot
- quilting stitches as a design element
- designs on dark fabrics where the shimmer shows
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I set the thread tension?
While embroidering the top tension may sit looser than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread.
What is the colour code for?
It is the identity of this colour. With it you reorder the same tone years later, while comparing on a screen or from memory almost always misses.
Can I sew with it?
For decorative seams yes, for load-bearing seams rather not. Embroidery thread is built for sheen and suppleness, not for the tensile strength a structural seam needs over years.
Does this thread shed lint?
Polyester sheds hardly any lint, unlike cotton thread. Even so, dust gathers in the hook area over time. Brushing it out monthly keeps your machine clean and stitching even.
