Description

River Mist stands cool and quiet. If you want seams to stay factual, this part of the palette is unavoidable. Colour code 1932, weight 40, 400 m of yardage: the figures that let this same colour be reordered exactly. The polyester is dyed through, so this tone stays the same over many washes.

Polyneon is built as a machine embroidery thread: it copes with high stitch counts and runs calmly through the needle. Madeira builds Polyneon from polyester. The thread shines clearly, stays colourfast and survives washing at high temperatures without losing tone.

What Madeira Polyneon Embroidery Thread 400 m River Mist is suitable for

  • monograms and lettering
  • area fill stitches where the sheen pays off
  • quilting stitches as a design element

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

What does chlorine-proof mean?

The thread does not lose its colour on contact with chlorinated water or chlorine-based cleaners. For beach towels, swimwear and workwear that is the decisive difference from plain embroidery thread.

How far does one spool go?

It depends on your design: a monogram needs a few metres, a densely stitched area many times more. For recurring designs in one colour the larger spool pays off.

How do I hoop the fabric properly?

Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching. Pull at the cloth and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.

Which colour suits which fabric?

Dark tones work on light ground, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the fabric before stitching — on a screen every colour looks different than in your hand.
