Dark Burgundy is a strong tone read at once on any ground. As topstitching it needs nothing else beside it. The spool holds 400 m of embroidery thread at weight 40, and the colour code reads 1981. The spool is sold singly, so you can top up one tone on purpose.
Polyneon is built as a machine embroidery thread: it copes with high stitch counts and runs calmly through the needle. Polyneon is Madeira's machine embroidery thread: polyester with a high sheen, chlorine- and boil-proof. A design holds up with it even where washing gets aggressive.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
What do I do when the thread breaks?
Usually your machine runs too fast or the tension is too tight. Slow down, loosen the tension and check the thread path. A net over the spool keeps the feed calm.
Do I need stabiliser?
Almost always. Stabiliser holds your fabric steady in the hoop so a design does not distort. Tear-away suits wovens, cut-away suits stretch, water-soluble suits terry.
Which colour should the bobbin thread be?
White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material a look from the right side before stitching pays off — the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.
How do I hoop the fabric properly?
Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching. Pull at the cloth and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.
