Description

A soft Purple Pink: the tone stays fresh through many washes and never turns towards grey. The spool carries 400 m. Weight 40 is the usual fineness for machine embroidery, and the colour code is 1880. The polyester is dyed through, so this tone stays the same over many washes.

If you combine several tones, staying inside the palette helps — the same material shines to the same degree. The thread runs low on lint and keeps stitch formation even. That spares your machine and calms a design. With a matching bobbin thread the reverse of a design stays flat.

What Madeira Polyneon Embroidery Thread 400 m Purple Pink is suitable for

  • area fill stitches where the sheen pays off
  • embroidery on textiles washed hot
  • decorative stitches on a sewing machine

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

What does chlorine-proof mean?

The thread does not lose its colour on contact with chlorinated water or chlorine-based cleaners. For beach towels, swimwear and workwear that is the decisive difference from plain embroidery thread.

How should I store the spools?

Upright, dry and out of the light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is entirely enough.

How do I plan several colours?

Fix the sequence beforehand and lay the spools out in that order. It saves time at each change and prevents similar tones being swapped by mistake.

Which colour suits which fabric?

Dark tones work on light ground, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the fabric before stitching — on a screen every colour looks different than in your hand.
