Along this thread light blue, azure and dark blue alternate — the gradient appears as you stitch, with no colour change needed. The spool holds 200 m of embroidery thread at weight 40, and the colour code reads 1601. Like solid Polyneon this thread is chlorine- and boil-proof.
For area-filling designs multicolour is the simplest way to gain depth: what reads flat in a solid thread gains structure here by itself. As with solid Polyneon the sheen arises inside the filament. The colour changes do nothing to alter that. The spool belongs upright in your box so the thread does not unwind on its own.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Does multicolour suit lettering?
For large letters yes, for fine lettering rather not. On small characters the colour changes mid-letter, and the wording then reads restless instead of lively.
Does multicolour shine like a solid thread?
Yes. It is the same polyester filament, only dyed differently. The shimmer arises in the material rather than the colour, so every section shines to the same degree.
How should I store the spool?
Upright, dry and out of the light. Direct sun bleaches the outer layers, and with multicolour it shows at once when one tone grows paler than the rest.
How do I hoop the fabric?
Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching the cloth. Pull it and you get ripples once it comes out — on the large areas multicolour tends to get, that shows immediately.
