The thread runs dusky pink, grey and beige in short sections. A design gains depth from it without your needing several spools. Colour code 1605 and 200 m of yardage at weight 40: the figures for an unambiguous reorder. Like solid Polyneon this thread is chlorine- and boil-proof.
It also suits quilting seams and decorative topstitching wherever a seam should look lively. Multicolour takes the colour changes off your hands: what would otherwise need several spools and stops runs here in one pass. On plain ground the change shows more clearly than on patterned fabric.
What Madeira Polyneon Torrid is suitable for
- area embroidery designs with a gradient
- quilting seams meant to look lively
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How does the gradient arise?
The thread is dyed in sections. While stitching the colour travels with the thread through your design, so the gradient appears without a colour change at the machine and differs on every design.
Does multicolour suit lettering?
For large letters yes, for fine lettering rather not. On small characters the colour changes mid-letter, and the wording then reads restless instead of lively.
How do I set the thread tension?
Looser for embroidery than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread, whichever tone happens to be running.
Is the spool sold singly?
Yes, every spool on its own. With multicolour that pays off especially, since one spool already brings several tones and you need not build a collection for them.
