Description

White belongs on pale parkas, cream winter coats and teddy jackets. On dark fabric it sets a deliberately sporty contrast. At 95 cm this is the longest version in the range, meant for long coats and parkas down to the knee.

The second slider sits at the bottom and opens the hem while the front stays closed at the top – handy on the bike, in the car and when sitting. To separate, bring both sliders down to the box. The moulded zip with 5 mm plastic teeth stands up to wind and weather and does not snag in the lining.

Length is measured as tooth length from stopper to stopper, without the tape. Colour code 101.

What Two-Way Open End Zip 95 cm White is suitable for

 • Cycling jackets, because the hem can open while you ride.
 • Winter coats, because the moulded teeth are easy to grip even with gloves.
 • Reversible jackets, because both halves separate completely.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Can I shorten the zip?

Yes, but only from the top, because the box and pin sit at the bottom. Remove a few teeth at the top, set a new stop with hand stitches and make sure the upper slider cannot slip off.

How do I separate the two halves?

Push both sliders all the way down until they rest against the box. Only then does the pin slide out. If the lower slider sits too high, it holds the halves together.

How do I measure the right length?

Measure the front edge on the finished pattern piece from hem to neckline and deduct the seam allowances. If the measurement falls between two lengths, take the longer one and shorten it at the top.

How do I care for the zip?

Close it before washing so the tape does not twist. The polyester tape tolerates a wash up to 40 degrees. Do not iron the plastic teeth directly, put a cloth between them and the iron.
