A light, clear tone: Cream covers well and does not yellow — even after many washes your seam stays as pale as on day one. The skein's 6 strands add up to 8 m of embroidery thread — enough for a medium design. A blunt embroidery needle finds the holes rather than the threads on counted fabric.
Repairs on knitwear are possible with it too, as long as the tone matches. Anchor supplies stranded cotton in skeins. The cotton is mercerised, which gives it a light shimmer without losing its matt character.
What Anchor Sticktwist Creme is suitable for

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I machine embroider with it?
No. Stranded cotton is too thick and too soft for an embroidery machine, and its strands would separate in the needle eye. Machines take fine polyester thread; stranded cotton stays reserved for hand work.
Do I need an embroidery hoop?
For larger designs yes. A hoop keeps fabric evenly tensioned so stitches come out the same size. For a few centimetres of stitching the effort does not pay.
Is the skein sold singly?
Yes, every skein on its own. That lets you buy exactly the tones a chart asks for instead of an assortment full of colours you never need.
Does this thread suit children?
Yes, for learning to stitch cotton is the easiest pick: it does not slip, it is easy to hold and it forgives uneven stitches more readily than a smooth machine thread.
