Description
Moss Green sits in the green range and so reads natural rather than technical. On brown and beige it makes a calm pairing. Each skein measures 8 m and holds 6 separate strands you can divide as needed. The skein is sold singly.
Stitch with all strands and you get a solid, almost raised surface; with two the line stays fine. A hand embroidery thread without a special purpose: it works on counted fabric, linen and cotton weaves alike. Before washing the finished piece a colour test on a scrap pays off.

Sewing tips
- Den Strang nicht auseinanderziehen, sondern das Fadenende vorsichtig herausziehen.
- Zum Teilen die gewünschte Anzahl Fäden einzeln herausziehen und wieder zusammenlegen.
- Fadenlänge etwa 40 bis 50 Zentimeter — längere Fäden verdrehen sich und fransen.
- Eine Sticknadel mit stumpfer Spitze nimmt bei Zählstoffen die Löcher statt der Fäden.
- Vor dem Waschen des fertigen Stücks eine Farbprobe machen, besonders bei kräftigen Rottönen.

Frequently asked questions
How many strands do I stitch with?
That depends on your fabric. On coarse counted cloth people take three, on fine two, for solid areas all of them. A test stitch at the edge answers faster than any rule.
How do I iron an embroidered piece?
Lay it face down on a soft cloth and iron from the reverse at moderate heat. The embroidery then keeps its relief rather than being flattened, which matters most with satin stitch.
How do I keep the skeins?
With their band, dry and out of the light. Without the band the colour number cannot be identified later, and that is exactly what you need when restocking a chart you started.
Do I need an embroidery hoop?
For larger designs yes. A hoop keeps fabric evenly tensioned so stitches come out the same size. For a few centimetres of stitching the effort does not pay.
