Ginger reads lively. Beside blue and petrol it builds the classic warm-cold contrast. Each skein measures 8 m and holds 6 separate strands you can divide as needed. A blunt embroidery needle finds the holes rather than the threads on counted fabric.
Repairs on knitwear are possible with it too, as long as the tone matches. A skein lets you draw off the thread end without tangling the rest — provided you do not pull the wrong end. Part-used skeins are best kept in your box with their band.
What Anchor Sticktwist Ingwer is suitable for
- cross stitch on Aida and counted fabric
- visible-stitch repairs
- freehand embroidery without a chart
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I take thread out of the skein?
Do not pull the skein apart; draw the end out gently. A skein is wound so the thread runs free from one side and tangles from the other.
How long should the thread in my needle be?
Roughly a forearm's length. Longer threads twist while stitching, fray at the needle and end up looking different at the finish than at the start.
Should I knot the thread?
Better not. Knots press through to the front and work loose over time. The usual method weaves the start under your first stitches and finishes the end the same way.
How far does one skein go?
For a small to medium design usually well. If you plan a large area in one tone, two skeins are safer, since later batches can differ minimally.
