Description

This thread shows Black Brown. As topstitching on light linen it reads strong but never garish. This spool carries 400 m of thread at weight 40. Note colour code 1800 with your project. The spool is sold singly, so you can top up one tone on purpose.

If you combine several tones, staying inside the palette helps — the same material shines to the same degree. As a polyester thread Polyneon resists light and washing. Textiles that live outdoors keep their tone with it for a long time. The spool belongs upright in your box so the thread does not unwind on its own.

What Madeira Polyneon Schwarzbraun is suitable for

  • Die Oberfadenspannung beim Sticken lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
  • Ein dünnes Untergarn als Unterfaden nehmen, nicht dasselbe Polyneon.
  • Ein Fadennetz über der Spule verhindert, dass sich der Faden in Schlaufen legt.
  • Nadelstärke 75 oder 80 mit Stickspitze reicht für die meisten Stoffe.
  • Bei dichten Motiven langsamer sticken, sonst erhitzt der Faden und reißt.

Frequently asked questions

How should I store the spools?

Upright, dry and out of the light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is entirely enough.

May I iron over the embroidery?

Best from the reverse and with a cloth between. Polyester takes heat, but direct heat flattens the stitches and robs a design of its relief.

Which colour should the bobbin thread be?

White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material a look from the right side before stitching pays off — the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.

Which colour suits which fabric?

Dark tones work on light ground, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the fabric before stitching — on a screen every colour looks different than in your hand.
