Description

The tone Frog Green brings nature into a project. Beside wood, linen and earth shades it looks self-evident. 400 m at weight 40, printed with colour code 1651 — that is how you find this tone again later. This tone is lightfast, which makes the difference on pieces by a window.

Polyneon is built as a machine embroidery thread: it copes with high stitch counts and runs calmly through the needle. Madeira Polyneon covers the ground reliably. On light tones over dark fabric that pays off in particular. With a matching bobbin thread the reverse of a design stays flat.

What Madeira Polyneon Froschgrün is suitable for

  • machine embroidery on cotton, sweat and terry
  • designs on swimwear and workwear
  • area fill stitches where the sheen pays off

Sewing tips

  • Die Oberfadenspannung beim Sticken lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
  • Ein dünnes Untergarn als Unterfaden nehmen, nicht dasselbe Polyneon.
  • Ein Fadennetz über der Spule verhindert, dass sich der Faden in Schlaufen legt.
  • Nadelstärke 75 oder 80 mit Stickspitze reicht für die meisten Stoffe.
  • Bei dichten Motiven langsamer sticken, sonst erhitzt der Faden und reißt.
  • Die Farbnummer ist die Identität des Tons — sie gehört ins Projektheft.

Frequently asked questions

Which needle suits it?

An embroidery needle with a larger eye and a slight ball point. It spares the thread and leaves your weave undamaged. A change after each larger project pays off, since blunt points drag.

How may I wash the finished piece?

As its fabric allows. The thread is boil-proof and chlorine-proof, so it sets no limit on temperature. That limit comes from the material you stitched on.

How should I store the spools?

Upright, dry and out of the light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is entirely enough.

How do I hoop the fabric properly?

Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching. Pull at the cloth and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.
