Mint belongs among the tones worth keeping for outdoor and nature projects. This spool carries 400 m of thread at weight 40. Note colour code 1702 with your project. Because polyester takes up hardly any moisture, this thread stays supple even in damp rooms.
It suits quilting stitches too, wherever a seam is meant to shine on purpose. The spools are cleanly wound and feed without loops — that decides how calm your stitching goes more than any setting. With a matching bobbin thread the reverse of a design stays flat.
What Madeira Polyneon Minze is suitable for
- appliqué on children's clothes
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
- designs on dark fabrics where the shimmer shows
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How may I wash the finished piece?
As its fabric allows. The thread is boil-proof and chlorine-proof, so it sets no limit on temperature. That limit comes from the material you stitched on.
Does the sheen last?
Yes. The shimmer arises inside the polyester filament rather than from a coating. So it is lost neither in the wash nor under an iron, as long as your fabric takes the treatment.
How should I store the spools?
Upright, dry and out of the light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is entirely enough.
Which colour should the bobbin thread be?
White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material a look from the right side before stitching pays off — the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.
