A rich Foxy Red: the thread stays colourfast even when a piece is washed often — with strong reds that is far from given. With 400 m on the spool and weight 40 this thread fits any embroidery machine. The colour code is 1637. A fine bobbin thread belongs in the case, not this same embroidery thread.
On dark fabrics the sheen comes fully into its own — a design then lifts away in the light as well as in colour. Madeira Polyneon covers the ground reliably. On light tones over dark fabric that pays off in particular.
What Madeira Polyneon Foxy Red is suitable for
- embroidery on textiles washed hot
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
- designs on dark fabrics where the shimmer shows
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Do I need stabiliser?
Almost always. Stabiliser holds your fabric steady in the hoop so a design does not distort. Tear-away suits wovens, cut-away suits stretch, water-soluble suits terry.
Does the sheen last?
Yes. The shimmer arises inside the polyester filament rather than from a coating. So it is lost neither in the wash nor under an iron, as long as your fabric takes the treatment.
How do I plan several colours?
Fix the sequence beforehand and lay the spools out in that order. It saves time at each change and prevents similar tones being swapped by mistake.
Which colour suits which fabric?
Dark tones work on light ground, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the fabric before stitching — on a screen every colour looks different than in your hand.
