Description

Rouge is a soft tone with a clear direction. On light fabrics it reads delicate, on dark ones surprisingly distinct. This spool carries 400 m of thread at weight 40. Note colour code 1919 with your project. The spool is sold singly, so you can top up one tone on purpose.

On terry this thread adds hardly any bulk and still stays clearly visible. Its sheen arises inside the polyester filament rather than from a coating — which is why it survives many washes. Before your first design a test piece on the same fabric with the same stabiliser pays off.

What Madeira Polyneon Rouge is suitable for

  • monograms and lettering
  • embroidery on textiles washed hot
  • designs on dark fabrics where the shimmer shows

Sewing tips

  • Die Oberfadenspannung beim Sticken lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
  • Ein dünnes Untergarn als Unterfaden nehmen, nicht dasselbe Polyneon.
  • Ein Fadennetz über der Spule verhindert, dass sich der Faden in Schlaufen legt.
  • Nadelstärke 75 oder 80 mit Stickspitze reicht für die meisten Stoffe.
  • Bei dichten Motiven langsamer sticken, sonst erhitzt der Faden und reißt.
  • Die Farbnummer ist die Identität des Tons — sie gehört ins Projektheft.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate bobbin thread?

Yes. A fine bobbin thread belongs in the case, not this same embroidery thread. Otherwise the reverse builds bulk, a design ripples and your machine pulls more thread than it needs.

Does the sheen last?

Yes. The shimmer arises inside the polyester filament rather than from a coating. So it is lost neither in the wash nor under an iron, as long as your fabric takes the treatment.

Can I sew with it?

For decorative seams yes, for load-bearing seams rather not. Embroidery thread is built for sheen and suppleness, not for the tensile strength a structural seam needs over years.

Which colour should the bobbin thread be?

White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material a look from the right side before stitching pays off — the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.
