With X-Mas Red you set a clear accent. On light fabrics your seam stands out, on dark ones it stays warmly visible. 400 m at weight 40, printed with colour code 1839 — that is how you find this tone again later. The thread is wound smoothly and feeds without jerking.
Polyneon is built as a machine embroidery thread: it copes with high stitch counts and runs calmly through the needle. Polyneon is strong enough for densely stitched areas while staying soft, so a finished design feels pleasant.
What Madeira Polyneon X-Mas Red is suitable for
- area fill stitches where the sheen pays off
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
- quilting stitches as a design element
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Which needle suits it?
An embroidery needle with a larger eye and a slight ball point. It spares the thread and leaves your weave undamaged. A change after each larger project pays off, since blunt points drag.
What is the colour code for?
It is the identity of this colour. With it you reorder the same tone years later, while comparing on a screen or from memory almost always misses.
Does the sheen last?
Yes. The shimmer arises inside the polyester filament rather than from a coating. So it is lost neither in the wash nor under an iron, as long as your fabric takes the treatment.
Why does my design ripple?
Usually stitch density is too high or stabiliser is missing. Reduce density in your software, add suitable stabiliser and hoop the fabric taut but not stretched.
