Description
Gentian Blue is a cool tone that comes out especially clean on warm fabric. On denim it lies almost tone on tone. Each spool carries 500 m of sewing thread at weight 100, and the colour number reads 0815. The spool is sold singly, so you can top up one specific tone on purpose.
Troja is an all-purpose sewing thread: it sews wovens as readily as knits, as long as a stretch stitch is set for anything elastic. Troja is Amann's all-purpose sewing thread. It is meant for everything sewn on a domestic machine, runs quietly and does not fray along a seam.

- Stärke 100 passt zu Universalnadeln der Stärken 70 bis 90.
- Ober- und Unterfaden in derselben Farbe nehmen, sonst blitzt der Unterfaden an der Naht durch.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen einen elastischen Stich wählen — das Garn selbst dehnt sich nicht.
- Angebrochene Spulen stehend und dunkel lagern, dann bleibt die Farbe frisch.
- Farbnummer zum Projekt notieren; nach Augenmaß trifft man den Ton selten wieder.

For most fabrics your machine's default will do. If the seam puckers, top tension is too tight; if the top thread lies loose on the surface, it is too loose.
What is the colour number for?
It is the identity of this colour. With it you reorder the same tone years later, while comparing by eye or on a screen almost always misses.
May I iron over the seam?
Yes, at the temperature your fabric allows. The thread takes ordinary ironing heat; caution belongs with delicate fabrics rather than with the thread itself.
Does this thread fit every sewing machine?
In the usual domestic machines yes. The spool sits on the normal pin; with a vertical pin a felt disc underneath helps the thread feed evenly.
