Description

With Bright Red you set a clear accent. On light fabrics your seam stands out, on dark ones it stays warmly visible. This spool carries 500 m of thread at weight 100 plus colour number 0503 — by eye alone you rarely hit the tone again. If you need this tone on several pieces, buying two spools at once is the safer move.

Troja is an all-purpose sewing thread: it sews wovens as readily as knits, as long as a stretch stitch is set for anything elastic. Troja's colour range is broad enough to find a matching tone for most fabrics — and the number makes that tone findable again.

What Amann Troja Sewing Thread 500 m Bright Red is suitable for

  • topstitching meant to lie flat
  • hems on trousers and skirts
  • patchwork and quilting

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Does the seam take hot washing?

Yes. The thread is colourfast and copes with usual wash temperatures. What decides is your fabric: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.

Why does my thread break?

Usually the thread is not at fault: a blunt needle, tension set too tight or a wrong threading path is. Change the needle first, then check the tension.

What stitch length is right?

For most fabrics it sits in the middle of your machine's range. The thicker the fabric, the longer the stitch — short stitches in thick material pucker a seam.

Can I mix different threads in one piece?

Better not within one seam. Different threads stretch differently, and your seam then pulls unevenly. Between two separate seams on the same piece it is no problem.
