Caramel is a warm, muted tone. On leather, cork and canvas it looks like it belongs rather than applied. 500 m, weight 100, colour number 1424: printed on the spool so the colour stays reorderable. If you need this tone on several pieces, buying two spools at once is the safer move.
From cotton fabrics to polyester blends the colour range covers most of what a fabric shop carries. Amann has made Troja in the same quality for a long time. Buy a spool again and you get the tone you got the first time. Before your first seam a test piece on the same fabric pays off, then tension and stitch length are right.

- Stärke 100 passt zu Universalnadeln der Stärken 70 bis 90.
- Ober- und Unterfaden in derselben Farbe nehmen, sonst blitzt der Unterfaden an der Naht durch.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen einen elastischen Stich wählen — das Garn selbst dehnt sich nicht.
- Angebrochene Spulen stehend und dunkel lagern, dann bleibt die Farbe frisch.
- Farbnummer zum Projekt notieren; nach Augenmaß trifft man den Ton selten wieder.

Which needle suits this thread?
A universal needle in a medium size matches weight 100. For jersey take a ballpoint needle, for denim a jeans needle — the thread stays the same in both cases.
Does the seam take hot washing?
Yes. The thread is colourfast and copes with usual wash temperatures. What decides is your fabric: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.
Why does my thread break?
Usually the thread is not at fault: a blunt needle, tension set too tight or a wrong threading path is. Change the needle first, then check the tension.
Is the spool sold singly?
Yes, every spool is available on its own. That lets you top up one tone instead of buying a whole assortment of which half sits unused in the box.
