Description
Navy reads calm and matter-of-fact. As a seam the tone disappears on blue fabric and steps forward on light. Colour number 0825, weight 100, 500 m of yardage: the three figures that find this tone again later. The thread is evenly twisted and therefore runs through your machine without jerking.
For assembling as much as for topstitching: at weight 100 your seam lies flat and adds no bulk. Amann has made Troja in the same quality for a long time. Buy a spool again and you get the tone you got the first time.

- Stärke 100 passt zu Universalnadeln der Stärken 70 bis 90.
- Ober- und Unterfaden in derselben Farbe nehmen, sonst blitzt der Unterfaden an der Naht durch.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen einen elastischen Stich wählen — das Garn selbst dehnt sich nicht.
- Angebrochene Spulen stehend und dunkel lagern, dann bleibt die Farbe frisch.
- Farbnummer zum Projekt notieren; nach Augenmaß trifft man den Ton selten wieder.

Frequently asked questions
Does it suit topstitching?
Yes, as long as your seam should stay flat. For deliberately thick decorative seams on jeans there is heavier thread; for clean, discreet topstitching this one is right.
What stitch length is right?
For most fabrics it sits in the middle of your machine's range. The thicker the fabric, the longer the stitch — short stitches in thick material pucker a seam.
Can I sew buttonholes with it?
Yes. The thread is even enough in thickness for a buttonhole stitch to cover cleanly. On sturdy fabrics it helps to test the buttonhole on a scrap first.
What is this thread made of?
It is a synthetic sewing thread, evenly twisted and therefore resilient. Unlike pure cotton it does not lose strength along a seam when washed often.
