Rust Red stands in the full part of the palette. On black and denim the tone reads especially clean. This spool carries 500 m of thread at weight 100 plus colour number 1167 — by eye alone you rarely hit the tone again. The spool is sold singly, so you can top up one specific tone on purpose.
For repairs the colour number decides: with it you match the old seam's tone instead of guessing. Troja is Amann's all-purpose sewing thread. It is meant for everything sewn on a domestic machine, runs quietly and does not fray along a seam.

- Stärke 100 passt zu Universalnadeln der Stärken 70 bis 90.
- Ober- und Unterfaden in derselben Farbe nehmen, sonst blitzt der Unterfaden an der Naht durch.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen einen elastischen Stich wählen — das Garn selbst dehnt sich nicht.
- Angebrochene Spulen stehend und dunkel lagern, dann bleibt die Farbe frisch.
- Farbnummer zum Projekt notieren; nach Augenmaß trifft man den Ton selten wieder.

This same thread in this same colour. Different tones above and below show along the seam as soon as your fabric moves. Only embroidery follows another rule.
How do I set the thread tension?
For most fabrics your machine's default will do. If the seam puckers, top tension is too tight; if the top thread lies loose on the surface, it is too loose.
How far does one spool go?
For a single garment it is usually enough several times over. If you plan a large project in one colour, buy two spools rather than restock mid-seam.
How should I store the spools?
Upright, dry and out of the light. Direct sun bleaches the outer layers over time, and then the tone no longer matches the number on the spool.
