Description
The tone Carmine Red is saturated and clear. If you mean to show a seam deliberately, colours like this are the answer. Weight 100 and 500 m: the standard figures for sewing thread on a domestic machine. Note colour number 0629. On sturdy fabrics your stitch length may sit a little longer so the seam does not pucker.
For assembling as much as for topstitching: at weight 100 your seam lies flat and adds no bulk. Even thickness over the whole length — that is how you recognise a good sewing thread, and Troja keeps to it.
What Amann Troja Sewing Thread 500 m Carmine Red is suitable for
- clothing from wovens and knits
- bags, pouches and cushion covers
- hems on trousers and skirts
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Does the seam take hot washing?
Yes. The thread is colourfast and copes with usual wash temperatures. What decides is your fabric: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.
Can I use this thread on an overlocker?
Better not. Overlock thread is softer and finer so the edge adds no bulk, and it comes on larger cones. Sewing thread runs restlessly in an overlocker and builds bulk.
What stitch length is right?
For most fabrics it sits in the middle of your machine's range. The thicker the fabric, the longer the stitch — short stitches in thick material pucker a seam.
Does this thread fit every sewing machine?
In the usual domestic machines yes. The spool sits on the normal pin; with a vertical pin a felt disc underneath helps the thread feed evenly.
