Yes. The thread is colourfast and copes with usual wash temperatures. What decides is your fabric: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.
How far does one spool go?
For a single garment it is usually enough several times over. If you plan a large project in one colour, buy two spools rather than restock mid-seam.
Why does my thread break?
Usually the thread is not at fault: a blunt needle, tension set too tight or a wrong threading path is. Change the needle first, then check the tension.
Which colour do I pick when I cannot match the fabric?
When unsure, take the slightly darker option. A darker thread disappears into the cloth, a lighter one shows at once, especially along seams that catch the light.
