Description

Ice Blue is a cool tone that comes out especially clean on warm fabric. On denim it lies almost tone on tone. The spool holds 500 m. Weight 100 is the fineness domestic machines expect, and colour number 0814 sits on the spool base. This thread is bred not for sheen but for a seam that holds.

If you sew a lot, stock the frequent tones. At 500 m a spool that lasts a while. Troja's colour range is broad enough to find a matching tone for most fabrics — and the number makes that tone findable again.

What Amann Troja Sewing Thread 500 m Ice Blue is suitable for

  • bags, pouches and cushion covers
  • repairs on existing seams
  • home textiles such as curtains and covers

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Does the seam take hot washing?

Yes. The thread is colourfast and copes with usual wash temperatures. What decides is your fabric: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.

What stitch length is right?

For most fabrics it sits in the middle of your machine's range. The thicker the fabric, the longer the stitch — short stitches in thick material pucker a seam.

How do I match the tone of an old seam?

Through the colour number if you still have it. Otherwise lay the thread straight onto the seam in daylight — artificial light shifts colours more than people expect.

May I iron over the seam?

Yes, at the temperature your fabric allows. The thread takes ordinary ironing heat; caution belongs with delicate fabrics rather than with the thread itself.
