Description
A saturated Lilac: the thread brings depth and reads almost dark on light ground. At 500 m per spool this thread goes a long way. Weight 100 suits the usual universal needles, and the colour number is 0009. On sturdy fabrics your stitch length may sit a little longer so the seam does not pucker.
For repairs the colour number decides: with it you match the old seam's tone instead of guessing. This thread is tear-resistant without being stiff. Exactly that mixture is what a seam needs if it should move with the fabric.

- Stärke 100 passt zu Universalnadeln der Stärken 70 bis 90.
- Ober- und Unterfaden in derselben Farbe nehmen, sonst blitzt der Unterfaden an der Naht durch.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen einen elastischen Stich wählen — das Garn selbst dehnt sich nicht.
- Angebrochene Spulen stehend und dunkel lagern, dann bleibt die Farbe frisch.
- Farbnummer zum Projekt notieren; nach Augenmaß trifft man den Ton selten wieder.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sew jersey with it?
Yes, but with a stretch stitch. The thread itself does not stretch; the give has to come from the stitch, otherwise your seam bursts at the first firm pull.
How do I set the thread tension?
For most fabrics your machine's default will do. If the seam puckers, top tension is too tight; if the top thread lies loose on the surface, it is too loose.
What is the colour number for?
It is the identity of this colour. With it you reorder the same tone years later, while comparing by eye or on a screen almost always misses.
Can I use this thread on an overlocker?
Better not. Overlock thread is softer and finer so the edge adds no bulk, and it comes on larger cones. Sewing thread runs restlessly in an overlocker and builds bulk.
