A clear red with neither blue nor orange cast. On dark fabrics this fastener becomes a deliberate accent. Its length is 20 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
This version carries a fine 3 mm coil. On light fabrics it is the calmer choice against metal. Topstitching sits best three to five millimetres beside the teeth: too close and the slider brushes your seam, too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.

Sewing tips

What does closed-end mean?
This fastener is closed at the bottom: the slider runs onto a fixed stop and both halves stay joined. Your piece opens only along the teeth, never completely.
How long should a cushion opening be?
At least half the cushion width, ideally a little more. Otherwise the insert only goes in with a struggle and the corners stay unfilled.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric or a thread is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
Which needle should I use?
A universal needle in a suitable size. Never sew across the teeth themselves — on metal a needle breaks, on plastic it bends. Push the slider aside first.
