Description
Dark Grey reads matter-of-fact. On marled fabrics your seam disappears into it better than into any coloured tone. 820 m, weight 40, colour code 1040 — printed on the spool so the tone stays findable. Beyond the sheen it is mainly tear resistance that separates this thread from matt sewing thread.
Polyester takes colour permanently. On pieces that go into the wash often, that is the decisive advantage over viscose. Sulky supplies Poly Deco in a wide palette. Because the material is always the same, different tones read evenly inside one design.

- Für Stickmaschinen die Oberfadenspannung etwas lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
- Als Unterfaden gehört ein dünnes Untergarn, nicht dasselbe Stickgarn.
- Die Spule so aufstecken, dass der Faden gleichmäßig abläuft — ein Fadennetz verhindert Schlaufen.
- Zu schnelles Sticken lässt den Faden reißen; bei dichten Motiven das Tempo drosseln.

Which needle suits this thread?
An embroidery needle covers most fabrics. It has a larger eye and a slight ball point, so the thread meets less friction and your weave stays undamaged. On dense designs a fresh needle after each larger project pays off.
Do I need stabiliser?
Yes, almost always. Stabiliser holds your fabric steady in the hoop so a design does not distort. Which one depends on the fabric: tear-away for wovens, cut-away for stretch.
Why does my design ripple?
Usually the stitch count is too dense or stabiliser is missing. Reduce stitch density in your software, add the right stabiliser and hoop the fabric taut but not stretched.
How do I hoop the fabric properly?
Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching the cloth. Pull it and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.
