A clean Anthracite: the thread stays neutral and never pulls the fabric's colour in one direction. Colour code 1174, weight 40, 820 m of yardage: three figures that let you reorder this exact tone later. Because polyester takes up hardly any moisture, this thread stays supple even in damp rooms.
For area-filling designs the sheen pays off: large fill stitches read more lively with it than with matt thread. This thread comes from Sulky and is built as a polyester machine embroidery thread: smooth, glossy, tear-resistant. It stays colourfast even when a piece is washed hot regularly.

Sewing tips
- Für Stickmaschinen die Oberfadenspannung etwas lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
- Als Unterfaden gehört ein dünnes Untergarn, nicht dasselbe Stickgarn.
- Die Spule so aufstecken, dass der Faden gleichmäßig abläuft — ein Fadennetz verhindert Schlaufen.
- Zu schnelles Sticken lässt den Faden reißen; bei dichten Motiven das Tempo drosseln.
- Stickvlies passend zum Stoff wählen: Die schönste Farbe nützt nichts, wenn sich das Motiv wellt.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set the thread tension?
While embroidering the top tension may sit slightly looser than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread.
How should I store the spools?
Upright, dry and out of direct light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is the simplest answer.
Does this thread suit hand embroidery?
In principle yes, though it is unusual. For hand work people take divisible cotton stranded thread. Machine thread is finer and more slippery, but it shines considerably more.
Which colour should the bobbin thread be?
White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material take a look from the right side before stitching: the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.
