Sage is a tone that reads neither cold nor warm. That makes it straightforward on many fabrics. 820 m at weight 40 — enough for many designs before a spool runs out. Colour code 1047. This thread is meant as much for an embroidery machine as for decorative stitches on a sewing machine.
If a design needs several tones, combine within the palette: spools look coherent side by side because the material is the same. Sulky makes Poly Deco from polyester. The thread shines clearly, runs evenly off its spool and stands up to the load inside fast embroidery machines.

Sewing tips
- Für Stickmaschinen die Oberfadenspannung etwas lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
- Als Unterfaden gehört ein dünnes Untergarn, nicht dasselbe Stickgarn.
- Die Spule so aufstecken, dass der Faden gleichmäßig abläuft — ein Fadennetz verhindert Schlaufen.
- Zu schnelles Sticken lässt den Faden reißen; bei dichten Motiven das Tempo drosseln.
- Stickvlies passend zum Stoff wählen: Die schönste Farbe nützt nichts, wenn sich das Motiv wellt.
- Farbnummer notieren, dann lässt sich dieselbe Farbe später eindeutig nachbestellen.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set the thread tension?
While embroidering the top tension may sit slightly looser than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread.
How should I store the spools?
Upright, dry and out of direct light. Polyester is lightfast, but dust on the thread carries lint into your machine. A closed box is the simplest answer.
Which colour do I pick for which design?
Dark tones work on light fabric, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the cloth before stitching — every colour looks different on a screen.
How do I hoop the fabric properly?
Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching the cloth. Pull it and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.
