Cool and clear: Petrol suits shirts, bags and anything not meant to read warm. This large 820 m spool copes with densely stitched areas too. Weight 40, colour code 1513. This thread is meant as much for an embroidery machine as for decorative stitches on a sewing machine.
It also suits quilting stitches and visible topstitching wherever a seam is allowed to shine. Poly Deco belongs to the glossy embroidery threads. That sheen comes from the polyester itself rather than a coating, so it is not lost in the wash.

- Für Stickmaschinen die Oberfadenspannung etwas lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
- Als Unterfaden gehört ein dünnes Untergarn, nicht dasselbe Stickgarn.
- Die Spule so aufstecken, dass der Faden gleichmäßig abläuft — ein Fadennetz verhindert Schlaufen.
- Zu schnelles Sticken lässt den Faden reißen; bei dichten Motiven das Tempo drosseln.
- Stickvlies passend zum Stoff wählen: Die schönste Farbe nützt nichts, wenn sich das Motiv wellt.
- Farbnummer notieren, dann lässt sich dieselbe Farbe später eindeutig nachbestellen.

Do I need stabiliser?
Yes, almost always. Stabiliser holds your fabric steady in the hoop so a design does not distort. Which one depends on the fabric: tear-away for wovens, cut-away for stretch.
Does this thread suit hand embroidery?
In principle yes, though it is unusual. For hand work people take divisible cotton stranded thread. Machine thread is finer and more slippery, but it shines considerably more.
Which colour do I pick for which design?
Dark tones work on light fabric, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the cloth before stitching — every colour looks different on a screen.
How do I hoop the fabric properly?
Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching the cloth. Pull it and you get ripples once it comes out. On stretch material a fusible stabiliser on the reverse helps as well.
