Description
With Tomato Red you set a clear accent. On light fabrics your seam stands out, on dark ones it stays warmly visible. Each spool holds 820 m of thread at weight 40; the band carries colour code 1953. The thread is wound smoothly and feeds without jerking, which keeps stitch formation calm.
Poly Deco is made for the embroidery machine: this thread runs calmly even at high stitch counts and takes the strain inside a design. Sulky makes Poly Deco from polyester. The thread shines clearly, runs evenly off its spool and stands up to the load inside fast embroidery machines.
What Sulky Poly Deco Embroidery Thread 820 m Tomato Red is suitable for
- machine embroidery on cotton, sweat and terry
- area fill stitches where the sheen pays off
- visible topstitching with a shine
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Which needle suits this thread?
An embroidery needle covers most fabrics. It has a larger eye and a slight ball point, so the thread meets less friction and your weave stays undamaged. On dense designs a fresh needle after each larger project pays off.
Why does my design ripple?
Usually the stitch count is too dense or stabiliser is missing. Reduce stitch density in your software, add the right stabiliser and hoop the fabric taut but not stretched.
How do I plan several colours in one design?
Fix the sequence beforehand and lay the spools out in that order. You lose no time at each change and mix up no tones that look alike on screen.
Does this thread shed lint in the machine?
Polyester sheds hardly any lint, unlike cotton. Even so, dust gathers in the hook area over time. Brushing it out once a month keeps your machine clean.
