Antique Brass stands warm and muted. For bags and belts it is the obvious tone. This large 820 m spool copes with densely stitched areas too. Weight 40, colour code 1212. Inside a design the thread lies flat and covers the ground reliably.
If a design needs several tones, combine within the palette: spools look coherent side by side because the material is the same. A glossy polyester thread with no coating: the shimmer arises inside the filament and therefore stays permanently. Before your first design a test piece on the same fabric pays off — then tension and stitch density are right.
Available in more colours in the Sulky Poly Deco series.
An embroidery needle covers most fabrics. It has a larger eye and a slight ball point, so the thread meets less friction and your weave stays undamaged. On dense designs a fresh needle after each larger project pays off.
For decorative seams yes, for load-bearing seams rather not. Embroidery thread is built for sheen and suppleness, not for the tensile strength a structural seam needs over years.
Usually the stitch count is too dense or stabiliser is missing. Reduce stitch density in your software, add the right stabiliser and hoop the fabric taut but not stretched.
White under light fabrics, black under dark ones. On sheer material take a look from the right side before stitching: the wrong bobbin thread shimmers through a design.
