This thread carries Natural, a calm middle shade, neither light enough to glow nor dark enough to contrast. The spool carries 820 m. Weight 40 is the usual fineness for machine embroidery, and the colour code reads 1071. This thread is meant as much for an embroidery machine as for decorative stitches on a sewing machine.
If a design needs several tones, combine within the palette: spools look coherent side by side because the material is the same. Poly Deco is Sulky's standard embroidery thread: glossy polyester, cleanly wound and in a palette you can add to over years.

Sewing tips
- Für Stickmaschinen die Oberfadenspannung etwas lockerer stellen als beim Nähen.
- Als Unterfaden gehört ein dünnes Untergarn, nicht dasselbe Stickgarn.
- Die Spule so aufstecken, dass der Faden gleichmäßig abläuft — ein Fadennetz verhindert Schlaufen.
- Zu schnelles Sticken lässt den Faden reißen; bei dichten Motiven das Tempo drosseln.
- Stickvlies passend zum Stoff wählen: Die schönste Farbe nützt nichts, wenn sich das Motiv wellt.
- Farbnummer notieren, dann lässt sich dieselbe Farbe später eindeutig nachbestellen.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set the thread tension?
While embroidering the top tension may sit slightly looser than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread.
How may I wash the finished piece?
This thread is boil-proof and colourfast. What decides is your fabric, not the thread: wash the piece as its material allows. Even hot washing leaves the tone unchanged.
Why does my design ripple?
Usually the stitch count is too dense or stabiliser is missing. Reduce stitch density in your software, add the right stabiliser and hoop the fabric taut but not stretched.
Which colour do I pick for which design?
Dark tones work on light fabric, light tones on dark. When unsure, lay the thread on the cloth before stitching — every colour looks different on a screen.
