A rich, dark brown like plain chocolate. With corduroy, linen and anything in natural tones it suits better than black. At 45 cm of tooth length it fits wherever you need exactly that opening — measured on your finished pattern piece, not on paper.
At 5 mm the coil is strong enough for sweat jackets and bags, yet still light enough not to drag at your fabric. Store it flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
What Teilbare Reißverschlüsse Schokoladenbraun is suitable for
- Zipped hoodies, because the fastener can run up into the hood.
- Coats, because this length reaches the hem.
- Cardigans, because a fastener replaces a button placket.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Which length does a jacket need?
Measure the front edge on your finished pattern piece, hem to neckline, and deduct seam allowances. Err short: too long and it stands proud at the top, too short and your hem gapes.
How do I stop the slider scratching a chin?
A small fabric tab over the upper end, or a piece of facing reaching past the slider. Either costs little effort and makes a jacket far more comfortable.
Metal or plastic — which is better?
Plastic is lighter, more flexible and quieter; metal reads stronger and takes more strain. Sweat jackets do fine with plastic; for coats and workwear, metal serves better.
Which needle do I need?
A universal needle in a suitable size; across several layers a denim needle. Never sew over the teeth themselves — a needle breaks or bends there.
